X1 Movie Night & S'More Bar Recipe / Nest Thermostat Giveaway

Wow, Xfinity, has a lot more to offer families than I knew! A big thanks to them for partnering with me to bring you this post. #XFinityMoms.

Tonight is family movie night and we are making S'Mores, we are so happy you can join us! In preparation for the S'mores we have a special menu planned with all of the toppings. You can choose from the Original, Grasshopper, Triple Chocolate, PB Explosion, Strawberry Cream, and The Turtle. Printable cards and menu are available for you to download for your movie night/party! We put everything out on trays and bowls so everyone could have fun putting together their own s'mores.  Next, place s'mores on a tray wrapped in aluminum foil and bake in a convection toaster oven/oven.  In a few minutes they are perfectly toasted and ready to eat. The Grasshopper tastes like a thin mint cookie, and the dark chocolate with strawberry-- omgeee! While enjoying your treats grab your Xfinity Voice Remote and use the voice command to search for your favorite family movie and experience how X1 will change the way you experience TV!

Xfinity has completely turned things around and impressively so, they have addressed their customer service issues and have re-launched  a new X1 taking entertainment to a whole 'notha level with the coolest technology that moms and families will love. The interactive TV is available in both English and Spanish, you can record up to 6 shows at the same time no more kids or husband bumping my favorite show off, I don't know about your house but, in ours we get into some serious disagreements about where did my Keeping up with the Kardashians and The Voice series go to versus The Walking Dead and Switched at Birth. You can use voice commands to change the channel, search for shows, and get recommendations.  We did a search for Adam Levine and it gives a nice biography on his work, a picture, and the current movies or concerts that they have on demand. You can also download the new Xfinity Apps which takes the place of all the other Apps and download movies for the kids or yourself to watch later when you don't have internet service , like for a long car ride or flight on a plane. Another great feature is you can see what a movie or TV show is rated and if it is age appropriate for your child. You can also set a timer for video games with parental controls. Also, check out Xfinity for the most live sports like the NFL RedZone and ESPN Goal Line.

Another feature of Xfinity that makes them the TOTAL package for families is the XFinity HOME.
This security system gives you all the features of an expensive security system with an affordable price. Everything is wireless so you can take it with you wherever you go. As you are watching your favorite shows, you can watch what is going on in you baby's bedroom right from the TV in your living room!  You can even connect an optional night vision security camera outside your home. You can even have emails sent to you whenever someone enters your home with a security code. Imagine being able to receive an email while you are at work and having peace of mind knowing that your child arrived home safely. Each person that has access to your home can be assigned a different access code to the alarm system. So, if you have a maintenance person doing work on your house you can set the alarm for them to access only between 9am and 11am after that the home alarm would sound. How cool is that?!!?  You can have lighting and outlet control so you can turn on lights when you are not home. You can have a Thermometer Control to save money on your heating. Live video monitoring, from your tablet, computer, and smartphone with battery and cellular back up. 24/7 professional monitoring by a certified central station. Real time text and email alerts.  There is a water sensor that you can hook up by your sump pump in case your basement gets any water the water sensor will alert you. The home system is incredible you have to stop by the store and try it for yourself! They have several specials going on like a free video camera for the Home system call your local store for more information. I am so excited about the Xfinity packages being offered right now and I know you will be thrilled with this technology too! Special thanks to Xfinity for sponsoring an awesome giveaway for a NEST THERMOSTAT VALUED AT $249.00. NEST is fully compatible with the X1 Home system too! Enter Below:

Tea Cup Bird Feeder Garden Sign - Summer Craftacular Blog Hop

Welcome to the Summer Holiday Craftacular Blog Hop! Thank you for hopping by Bella Home Goods, I am so excited to be joining this wonderful group of crafty ladies and look forward to creating great projects with everyone! Thank you Lauren from Mom Home Guide for the invite to join your talented group of blogger friends!
This craftacular idea is something fun to make with your kids for the summer and to attract birds in your back yard.  Last summer we spotted blue jays that had some babies, cardinals, blue birds, wood peckers,  golden finch, red robins and sparrows.  We had some butterflies as well, they love the plant butterfly bush. And some new flying  butterfly type moths that were fun to watch around the garden. It sure is exciting to be outdoors in the summer and spending time in nature don't you agree???

For this project I simply used whatever materials I had on hand so you can do that, or go to the lumber store.
Materials For Project:
*1/4 inch diamond drill bit for your power drill
*1x2 piece of pressure treated wood
*painted cabinet fastening flat head screw*1/4 inch nylon washer and a 5/16 inch rubber washer. All available in the Home Depot fastener   aisle.
*Paint-  for ease I used indoor/outdoor Rustoleum spray paint. After your paint dries in 30 minutes
*Paint Brushes and Stencils To decorate your project. We used a heart stencil and turned it into a bird by painting a beak, an eye, and feet.
*teacup and saucer
*clear coat paint for outdoor use

Paint your piece of lumber. Once dry you can begin to decorate your garden sign.   A few years ago we picked a few Cape May Diamonds from the southern most point in Cape May, New Jersey and they have a lot of bird sanctuaries there so, I thought this would be the perfect place to put a few of our Cape May Diamonds. Hopefully, we will see the New Jersey bird again our Golden Finch in our back yard.

Decorate your garden and personalize it to what speaks to you and your family the most and you will all enjoy putting this craft together. Once your paint is dry apply clear coat sealer to protect your project in the outdoors. You can take some beautiful pictures of the birds feeding on your new bid feeder. When you do put your bird feeder out they do like to be near shelter if possible like near a tree or some type of protection from larger prey. The birds are going crazy for the suet cakes they really are enjoying them. The mama cardinal and male cardinal look like they are kissing each other. She takes a few bites and then feeds it into the male cardinals beak. This usually happens every evening around dusk. During the day they both stop by to feed usually separately.

After you are finished decorating your garden stake it is time to drill a hole into the bottom of the tea cup and tea cup saucer. This is where you will need the diamond tip drill bit. This drill bit will allow you to drill through the china without it breaking (hopefully, we lost one teacup).  While you drill the hole for the saucer and tea cup place your item in a plastic bowl in a sink and add water on top of the saucer and teacup while drilling the hole. Of course you drill the hole in one item at a time. You should wear safety glasses also.  You would also drill a pilot hole in the top of your lumber where the saucer and tea cup are going to be placed on top of.  Attach with long cabinet fastener screw , nylon washer on top and rubber washer grommet on the bottom attach some what loosely so it does not crack your tea cup with your screw gun. I am also hoping that be keep in the screw a little loose that some water will be able to drain. We were afraid to put too many holes in the cup. You can cut angles at the bottom of your stake into a point. Then place in ground and add your bird seed. And your done!

I hope you enjoy this summer time craft project with your family and have some wonderful birds flying in your yard.

Tie-Dye Swirls Sugar Cookies

What smells better than baking sugar cookies in the oven? Only These bright tie-dye swirl sugar cookies!
The best part is they are easy and fun to make with your kids, everything is complete in the Duff Goldman Premium Sugar Cookie mix Tie-Dye Swirls kit. The grooviest treat you will ever eat is so much fun to make. First prepare the batter and section the cookie dough into 4 equal parts. Whith each dough in a eperate bowl you add the bright food coloring into the dough and mix. For each cookie that you make you take a piece of each color dough and roll into a round ball and then roll into a rope. Combine into one long rope, then continue to roll the rope into a circle formation so you have a round cookie. Place the cookies on the cookie sheet and bake in the oven. Then enjoy with your family or friends!

We had a lot of laughs making these cookies the first few were a little off, but they still tasted delicous with a cup of milk! The colors stay really bright even after baking. We were so proud of our cookie creations, so different than our usual chocolate chip cookies. Guaranteed happiness!

We found our Duff Goldman cookie mix at Target, we also tried the Duff Goldman blueberry cake from Wegmanns with marshmellow frosting and that was awesome too! We love the bright cheerful colors. you can also find them in my Amazon store by clicking on the cookie box below.
